Programs & Services


Boys & Girls Clubs of America's national programs have taken members from the Clubhouse to the White House; from the games room to the corporate boardroom; from the high school orchestra to Carnegie Hall.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America has a lineup of tested and proven nationally recognized programs that address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.

More than 25 national programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, alcohol/drug and pregnancy prevention, gang prevention, leadership development and athletics. 

Our Boys & Girls Clubs of Brazoria County offers five Core Areas of programming which meet the diverse needs, interests and inclinations of all members.  Our trained professional staff incorporate the following themes into daily activities, allowing youth to learn in a fun and educational environment.

 

Character & Leadership Development empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.

Education & Career Development enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to optimize employability.

Health & Life Skills develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well being, set personal goals and develop the competencies to live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
            SMART Moves - Drug and alcohol abuse prevention
            SMART Girls - Building self-esteem for girls
            Passport to Manhood - Building self-esteem for young men
            Street SMART - Gang prevention

 

The Arts enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual and tactile arts and crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
